A Trek

Rock by Rock, I absorb the hills,

As the world unfolds beneath my feet.

Breath by Breath, I instil

Trust unbreakable by dauntless heat

I conquer the mountains, I conquer my fear

I conquer mortality, and everything here

Sweat trickling down my face

Is the mountain’s gift, the mountain’s praise

As I grasp the summit, finish the race

I win, I lose, but with a smile on my face
